Vaccines Registration

India is all set to begin the registration of the phase 3 vaccination drive from Saturday, May 1. For this phase, the Union Government announced that everyone above the age of 18 will be eligible to get a vaccine against COVID-19 from May 1.

As the supply of vaccines remains a concern, states like Gujarat have chosen to delay the roll-out to 18+. But in the rest of the country, the much-awaited self-registration process kick-started at 4 pm on Wednesday, April 28.

The entire country is grappling with the brutal second wave of the COVID-19 pandemic. Over the past few days, India has been reporting more than three lakh cases and more than 2,500 deaths every single day. Therefore, vaccination is deemed to be India's best shot against the invisible enemy.

Vaccines are proven very safe and extremely effective for all healthy adults and therefore, the government and scientists urge people to shed the vaccine hesitancy and avail themselves the shots at the earliest. As compared to phase 2, in this phase all eligible individuals have to self-register themselves on an online portal called CoWin or the two government apps:

Aarpgya Setu and Umang. The government has already clarified that there will be no walk-in allowed for beneficiaries in the third phase. "Only self- registration and advance appointments for people between 18 to 45 years of age. No walk-in allowed," stated the government officials. How to register?

As the supply of vaccines remains a concern, states like GUJARAT have chosen to delay the roll-out to 18+. But in the rest of the country, the much-awaited self-registration process kick-started at 4 pm on Wednesday, April 28.
